Target group: Parents, Carers and Early Childhood Staff
This highly interactive presentation aims to assist parents, carers and Early Childhood staff to make the transition to school easier for all involved and increase awareness of school expectations. The presentation includes, but is not limited to, preparing children for school, hints to help parents, children and staff survive the first few weeks, and skills to assist your child before he/she commences school.
Topics for discussion include composite classes, bullying, a child’s typical school day, parent/teacher communication, and much, much more ...
At the end of this workshop, parents, carers and Early Childhood staff may be able to identify the three main issues children worry about when starting school; assist children in lessening these worries; help your child and yourself get through ‘that first day’; and be aware of the consequence of sending children to school too early.
The course is conducted over a two hour period. Course content, certificate of attendance and light refreshments are included. The cost includes GST.
