Overview
Art thinking for Teachers and Carers of children who feel reluctant about making art with children or making art themselves. Why do we make art and what influences and limits us in creating art - this workshop examines these questions to expand what is realistically achievalbe, successful and valuable with children in group care and school based settings. Includes visual presentation, some group brainstorming and a question session (2 hours)
Jane Elliot - MArtEd BA DipEd DipGallMagmt CertDesign
Jane is an art teacher of long experience having taught in K-6 and high schools, tertiary institutions and various community contexts. She is a child art specialist with a passionate belief in the value of Visual Arts education for young children. Jane has the benefit of a sound understanding of the theoretical frameworks of children's artistic development, with the pragmatic realities of working with young children for fostering creative experience and visual problem solving skills and knowledge. She has a wide repertoire of solutions for Visual Arts curriculum planning and models for any context in working with children. Jane is available to speak to teachers, parents and carers in this creative discipline and can run group based, practical workshops to suit your needs.
