A highly interactive musical workshop conducted for early childhood carers who wish to:
Early involvement with music can achieve a number of things: the development of memory; aural discrimination; concentration; physical co-ordination; response to language; social skills.
Babies’ brains are wired for sound; they learn to ‘sing’ before talking. Music has been the traditional way that love and learning has been passed to babies. To learn best babies need touch, sound and movement.
New brain research supports the learning opportunities that music offers for normal development and where children have special needs. Movement supports learning and music offers varied, and wide movement skills.
This workshop is presented by Carol Crees, B.A., B.Soc. Sc., M.E.Ch., Dip.Ed. (Syd). Carol is a specialised and highly experienced musical performer and presenter who combines academic pursuits with interests in singing, folk dance, yoga and other modalities - aspects of which are incorporated in her workshops and early childhood musical resources. With her husband, Gary, she has presented at conferences and inservice training throughout Australia and has been training and performing in early childhood music and movement for more than 15 years.
The course is conducted over a 2.5 hour period. Course content and light refreshments are included. The cost includes GST.
