Embracing the Spiritual Child: Incorporating a Spiritual Perspective into Settings for Young Children
The objective of this course is to explore ways of building on the concept of the Spiritual and Moral Child from the NSW Curriculum Framework for Children’s Services.
The concept of the ’spiritual and moral child’ as described in the NSW Curriculum Framework for Children’s Services, is often overlooked or placed in the ’too hard basket’ by early childhood educators.
This workshop will explore practical ways to respond to and nurture children’s inner strength and spirit.
The idea of children as morally aware, critically thinking citizens whose attitudes and actions can and will impact upon each other and the wider community will be discussed.
This course is presented by Patrice Thomas, early childhood consultant, lecturer, author and Honorary Associate of the Institute of Early Childhood, Macquarie University. Patrice Thomas published ‘The Magic of Relaxation’ in Australia in 2002 and ‘The Power of Relaxation’ for the USA in 2003 and has contributed to a range of early childhood journals such as Childcare Information Exchange; Ratler; EveryChild.
The course is conducted over a two hour period. Course content, certificate of attendance and light refreshments are included. The cost includes GST.
